Two Warring Kingdoms
1. God the creator had his kingdom contaminated by sin but he already had a plan to reestablish righteousness to his kingdom.2.To redeem individuals back into a righteous relationship with Himself, he used Jesus death on the cross, and resurrected him to life providing the sacrifice required by justice.
It was now fair to give righteousness and forgiveness to those who asked for it and repented of their sins.
3.Then He sent the Holy Spirit to empower them to spread His kingdom to others.
4. God's plan for the kingdom was different than the disciples and other Jews expected. Jesus told Pilate "I am not an earthly king. My kingdom is not of this world."
5. Jesus' enemy was Satan. Satan had overtaken the world and turned it into darkness and sin. The world is a stolen kingdom under temporary control of sin.
6. Through the resurrection Jesus notified Satan the stolen kingdom was being reclaimed by the kingdom of heaven.
7. Through the Holy Spirit and Christians, He is now leading a resistance movement against darkness and enslavement to sin.
8. Two warring kingdoms exist.
The worldly kingdom of sin and Satan and a heavenly kingdom within the hearts of Christians.
As Christians we are battling a spiritual war to reestablish Jesus' kingdom.
9. Our enemy is not people or political governments.
Our war is with Satan and the false teaching being promoted against God's truth in the Bible.
10. We are not fighting people of flesh. We war against unseen beings without fleshly bodies; unseen rulers; invisible princes promoting sin and false teachings.
Often we war against our own fleshly desires and demonic suggestions to the mind.
Two worldviews opposing each other.
