Teaching the Absolute Truth
1. How do we teach young people that God is the author of morality?2. Challenge their thinking about what makes our actions right or wrong.
3. Why is stealing wrong? Why is lying wrong? Why is murder wrong?
Who has the authority and the right to declare something as wrong?
Is morality and truth absolute or relative (subject to the situation) ?
4. Today we have cultural ethics meaning the majority of the people and a court declares what is right or wrong.
Is that the way it should be, or are there absolute rights and wrongs?
5. Does each society have the right to decide for themselves what is right?
Since almost everyone in German culture believed it was acceptable to abort six million Jews does that make it right?
6. If there is something beyond culture that determines truth, what is it ?
Where does the basis for absolute truth come from?
7. The Answer: There is absolute truth that is outside of mankind, and beyond what society believes, and above governments.
Murder is wrong because truth originates with God who created mankind, and declared we were created in His image with conscience and freewill.
Only God is the preserver of life and truth.
His nature is love and holy.
His commandments are for our benefit, health, and happiness.
