God reveals Himself

                                 God reveals Himself

1. The Bible claims to be and is the inspired (God breathed) Word of God.

2. Jesus is according to John Ch.1  the Word made flesh.

3. Although each writer that God inspired was speaking to a specific audience the truths written are meant for all. All generations, all history, all cultures.

4. Although you may glean a truth from the Bible that seems to apply to your specific circumstance the ultimate truths are for everyone.

5. 2 Timothy 2:15 warns us to "accurately handle the word of truth."
We must interpret scripture within the context it was written in, or we will take a sentence out of context and misinterpret it causing it to say something that is not true.

6.The social tolerance being promoted today teaches that truth is relative and subject to each person's circumstances or interpretation.
This is a false doctrine of demons. Truth is absolute.

7. Absolute truth is based on God's nature of love, justice, and holiness.
Only the Creator God has the ability and right to declare what is truth.
His commands may seem restrictive but in reality they are for our benefit and more abundant life.

8. Since God's Word is absolute truth we must conform to it.
We cannot conform His truth to our opinion.
His Word is absolute, not subjective or open to personal interpretation.

9. God is not tolerant when it comes to  His truth.
Salvation through the blood of Jesus is exclusive. It is not inclusive of other forms of salvation.
"I am the way,the truth ,and the life."

10.Truth cannot be relative but beliefs can be.
Beliefs emphasize debatable ideas and convictions about truth.
Such as whether to eat meat, what feasts to observe, Calvinism, Wesleyan Armenianism, Roman Catholic, how to baptize, types of fasting, observing certain holidays, political parties, modes of dress, whether to use music in worship, when the rapture will occur, etc.
