Outline on Islam (Muslim Religion)

There are two types of Muslims.
In the early part of Mohammed's life his message was one of peace and teachings about heaven , hell, the need to care for widows& orphans, & the judgement.

Later after moving to Medina, Mohammed's changed his tactics & waged 78 military offensives against his enemies.

Moderate Muslims live by the first phase of the Quran(Muslim Bible) & believe it is a peaceful religion.

Radicals believe the latter revelation of Mohammed overrides the the verses about peace.

We must not label all Muslim's as radicals or the enemy.
There are five pillars of Islam.
1.Confessing "Allah is God and Mohammed is his prophet"
2. Praying five times a day
3. Fasting during the month of Ramadan
4.Giving alms (charity)
5. Making a pilgrimage to Mecca

Radicals believe they are living in the final time of Allah's revelation and are facing the final test of their faith. In the Quran, Mohammed commands Muslims to hate Non-Muslims because they are infidels who do not believe in Allah.
There are 109 verses in the Quran telling Muslims to make holy war (Jihad) on infidels. Five of these verses command them to make war in the cause of Allah.
On average one out of eight verses in the Quran threatens hellfire if they doubt the Islam religion or do not believe Mohammed is the prophet of God.
Mohammed, himself, had 500 or more men beheaded in one day in Medina ,who refused to admit that he was a prophet sent by God.

Today many moderates in the U.S.,England,Canada,& Europe are becoming radacalized because millions in foreign oil monies are being spent exporting the radical beliefs.

We need to be aware that the radical Islamic goal is to destroy the American legal system & social power and institute Sharia law in its place.

There are huge differences between the Religion of Islam and the Christianity.
1.Allah is unknowable, transcendent, exalted so that no man can personally know him.
Jesus Christ came into the world so we could know God personally (John17:3)

2. Allah is nonpersonal & can not be understood as a person. It would lower him to the level of a man.
The God of the Bible is personal & is spoken of as a person with intellect,a will, & emotion.

3. Islam belief is Unitarian. The Quran denies Allah is a father, and only accepts Jesus as a prophet, not the Son of God.It also denies the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is trinitarian(three persons in one). God is One in three persons,Father, Son,& Holy Spirit. All share equally the divine nature.

4. Allah is non-spirit to consider Allah a person or a spirit is blasphemous & demeans the exalted One.
Jesus taught that God is a spirit (John4:24)

5.The Quran teaches that Allah is unlimited & able to do anything, anywhere. He is not even limited by his own nature.
The Biblical God is limited by His own nature. He cannot lie or contradict himself.

6. Allah is capricious & untrustworthy. He is not bound by his nature or his word.
God of Bible is true to his nature, trustworthy,& consistent.

7. Allah is not loving. It is foreign to Islamic teachings to consider Allah having feelings toward man. It would reduce Allah to mere man.
The Biblical God's very nature is love. He has feelings for his creatures, especially man who is made in his image (likeness).

8. Allah is passive in history. He does not deal personally with man. He deals with the world through his word, angels, & prophets.
Christianity's God is active in history. He enters history as a man (incarnation) to bring man's salvation (Restoration from sin to Himself)

9. The 99 attributes of Allah are all negative, what he is not like. There are no positive attributes telling what he is like.
The Bible gives both positive & negative attributes of Jehovah.

10. Islam is based on works. There is no savior ,intercessor or grace in the Quran.
The God of the Bible provides a free salvation for man through Jesus Christ who acts as an intercessor between God & man (1Tim.2"5)
