Questions to Ask Before Marriage

1. Marriage is not for everyone. Some are called to be single.
2. Marriage is not based on love alone.  Marriage is based on commitment and love.
3. Eros love is physical attraction (Passion). This will fluctuate like emotions & circumstance
    Philia love is brotherly love (Friendship)
    Agape love is unconditional love (Commitment-no matter what)
4. Marriage requires all three of these loves.  Mostly the foundation of commitment - Agape.

1. Am I committed to this relationship for life?
2. What if this person changes?
3. What if circumstances change, such as disability?
4. Is this person a believer ?              Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2Cor.6:14
5. Am I willing to make sacrifices?                Hobbies,job,relationships,location,time,etc.
6. How does this person treat others?          Parents, siblings,friends,bosses,pastor,etc.
7. What are this persons character traits?       Jealous,thrifty,anger,political,selfish,vengeful
8. Would our witness for Christ be better together or apart?
9. How would our children be raised?       How many children?
10.Who would control the checkbook or finances?
11. Where would our holidays be spent?          Vacations,weekends,evenings,etc.
12.Is this person too attached to their parents or friends?
