1. Like a scuba diver in water, we can survive in his watery world of sin only if we are breathing air from above.
2. Conversion is a birth, but sanctification is a death. Dying to self and the world, we become consecrated totally to Christ.
3. Being born again is a supernatural reality. Life flows into us from being grafted into Jesus the vine.
4. Risen and resurrected are two separate things for the Christian.
5. Being risen to life in Christ is not the same as Resurrection.
6. Resurrection is being raised to life again after dying. We were raised to life from death (sin), but not resurrected, because we were not alive (spiritually) to begin with.
7. The first resurrection is for those who are born-again, justified, and sanctified, it is a physical resurrection for those already spiritually live.
8. Life is a mystery that God alone can create it is hidden deep within the blood. Only Jesus was given power to have life within himself.
9. In our spiritual birth, life is imparted to us through the Word and abides in us as divine love.
10. If we love Jesus then our thoughts, affections, and hope are above in Him. This essay is a rephrased version of George D. Watkins book "The Heavenly Life" Ch.4
