True and False Freedom

In today's society many people think the word freedom means liberation from moral and ethical restrictions.

This view of freedom is a distorted view, seeing morality and truth as nothing more than personal choice. Many think you have no right to impose your beliefs on someone else, even if your beliefs are based on God's word.

Modern society has replaced the intellect and the conscience with the emotions, the will, and desires of the flesh. Many non-Christians feel that morality is enslaving us. They demand the freedom to sin, while the Bible teaches freedom from sin.

2 Peter2:19 Warns about false teachers who promise to give freedom when they themselves are slaves to depravity, because man is a slave to whatever masters him.

Sin is enslaving. Alcoholics are not free, drug addicts are not free, porn addicts are not free, those who hate others are destroyed by their own hatred.

John 8:36 "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." Christians are liberated from the law Christ living within us makes it possible for us to do what is right, not because we have to , but because we want to. Christianity internalizes our morality so that we do freely what is right. We are free to love and serve our neighbors.

Christianity is not a repressed or fearful or harsh type of existence. It's a life of freedom and peace of mind.

As Christians, we need to show gratitude, forgive one another, be joyful, and practice individual responsibility so that others will see the joy of being a Christian, rather than seek the freedom of no restrictions.

Non-Christians feel enslaved by morality, because our fallen nature loves to sin. That's why we need laws enforced by the government, and a conscience to prevent us from acting on those sinful desires. Otherwise we would destroy each other and humane society would cease to exist.

The Truth About The Gospel Of Judas

1. The Gospel of Judas is not a lost gospel as National Geographic claims it to be.
The church has known about this Gospel of Judas since around 180A.D.

2. The Gospel of Judas is not from the time of Christ but actually teaches concepts that were not from the first century.
Example: Passage from the Gospel of Judas "You will exeed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me"

a. Author is not recognized as a prophet of God or an apostle
b. It does not correspond with other known revelation such as the Old Testament

d. Does not have acts of God or Spirit anointing validating the author's credibility

What is the Christian Response to Illegal Immigration

Some feel that as Christians we should have open borders and allow those less fortunate to come into the U.S. and find the American dream.
Others see that allowing millions of immigrants to continue coming to the U.S. will eventually destroy our economy and place our security in grave danger, especially since many terrorists will also come.

Should we feel guilty or selfish if we want to keep out immigrants?
If a person thinks it all the way through, to permit illigal immigrantion means providing them a home and finding them a job. Compassion means we want to love others and treat them as we would want to be treated.
But is this logical?

God placed civil government in its role of authority to prevent chaos and injustice.
The job of federal government is to protect the survival of the country and its citizens.
If there is no country then there is nothing to govern or protect.
Two of the ten commandments are do not steal and do not lie.
Crossing into America illegally breaks both of these comandments. That's why it's called illegal.
Just as it is wrong to break into someone's home it is also sinful to break into another country unlawfully.

Illegal immigrants are here under false pretenses.
Unless this country is granting them political asylum because their life is being threatened ,they should return to their own country or be deported.
The U.S. government has set up measures for foreign citizens to legally become U.S. citizens.
If the government chooses to pardon those already living in the U.S. that is the governments perogative.

The civil government has a Biblical mandate to maintain law and order for the good of siciety.
